Self Care to Improve your Mental Health
Meet our influencer of the week: Jess

With over 550k+ followers across all of her social media platforms, Jess shares her tips and tricks on how to improve your mental health by practising self care.
In 2019, Jess originally made her instagram account to follow friends and family. However, during the first 2020 lockdown, Jess decided on turning her insta into a mental health awareness page. "During the pandemic, everyone was suffering with their mental health", the influencer says, "obviously due to the anxieties around COVID-19, not being able to leave the house or seeing your loved ones. I decided to make my account into a optimistic mental health page for people who need help practising a self care routine or just to feel less alone."
With just over a year since revamping her account, the teen has gained hundreds of thousands of followers that support her and her page.
Here are some self care tips from Jess to improve your mental health!
- Go outside! Keep active! It reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression
- Eat and drink well
- Get a sufficient amount of sleep! Lack of sleep leads to feeling harmful and negative emotions
- Talk to someone! Even if its friends, family or a teacher, ask for help if needed
- Keep busy, do something that makes you happy!
